Black Tiger
This rose is a seedling of the climbing rose, Fourth of July.
After 3 years in the yard, it appears to be identical to its parent in everyway
except for the color. Like its parent, the rose has a very vigorous climbing habit,
excellent disease resistance (especially to mildew), and a wonderful apple fragrance.
It is quite hardy in zone 6, suffering only minor tip damage in an exposed location.
The color can best be described as Knockout striped with Black Jade. There is rarely
any white in the flower, which allows the plant to blend well in the garden.
Another bonus is that this rose is quite tolerant of soggy soils when grown on its own roots.
