Thank you Henry! I'm really tempted to try it in roses, but the $250 cost for 5mg is pricey and slowing me down from wanting to try it, at least that is what the practical side of me is thinking. https://www.kerafast.com/item/5725/anta ... gonist-ant

Here's the PNAS article https://www.pnas.org/content/pnas/118/3 ... 8.full.pdf

That is a very complex heterocycle compared to ABA which I'm sure explains the price. It looks like the chemist who invented it is not actually a chemist but a botanist.

How did a guy with a biology background conceive and manufacture such a complex compound? The answer is synthetic chemical automation, what he refers to as 'click chemistry':

The link above points to a 2009 blog post. He has been very busy since then playing with the click chemistry toolbox that he assembled.

David, perhaps you should consider a collaboration with Dr. Cutler as a means of testing his antagonists against rose seeds. He seems very results-oriented. I can envision a commercial product to come out of such a collaboration tailored and priced for amateurs breeders.
What doesn't kill them makes them stronger.

The magic material is a steal because it is $38.50 US CHEAPER than 5 grams of gold at recent market quote ...

I guess I am wondering how this is supposed to help farming, if they can barely make ends meet, let alone purchase something nearly as expensive as gold? Or is it going to make that large of a difference in productivity?

Although, I like Don's idea of working together with! If a product could be developed that would be affordable, I'm sure a lot of people would be interested.
