Pavement series examples, especially Rotesmeer, have been in gardens for +15 years - don't remember shovelling one out. A favourite and totally consistent year in and year out.

Definitely not completely cane hardy in my garden, but stronger than (The) Hunter (21 years).

Don't do crossings with rugosas due to susceptibility to anemia and unnatural foreign chemicals burning of leaves.

I can’t grow much of the modern hybrids so I use Rosa rugosa. The biggest issue is the lack of colours (Topaz Jewel does not count).
I also love the Pavement series especially ‘White Pavement’.
