Otherwise known as Dancing Roots.
These folks germinated some seeds in a gel medium then recorded the root growth on a 15 minute time lapse. The one on the right is a mutant that doesn't do the dance.

I'm doubtful that rose roots do the same thing because I don't usually see a corkscrew pattern during embryo culture but I never really watched for it.
