I have, several times over the years, wondered if messages I've sent through this site's private messaging options were ever received by the intended recipient. I would appear not. I've noticed that my "outbox" (as opposed to "sent" folder) does have a number of correspondences in it, the earliest being half a dozen years old.
As I say, my impression would be that these are messages that have never been received...
Has anybody else had this occur?

That's how I see it . Outbox = to go out. Sent = already gone.

Well, I'ma be a little cheeky and go ahead and ask David Z. if he has gotten any notifications that I was trying to message him. (David, in the interim, I have now lost your mailing address!)
I won't bother directing any messages here to those to whom I wrote 5 years ago and whose messages still sit in my outbox. I doubt I would remember what I was even writing about at the time anyway.

Re: "Outbox" vs "Sent"
I found two old ones from several years ago in the outbox, but when I hit the send or submit (whichever it is, I don't remember, though I sent a PM only a few hours ago) they show as 'sent' and are in the 'sent' mail. All of the others I sent in the interim since those two odd ones are in the "sent" box, too.

I don't see a "submit" unless I click the edit option, which it allows. Tried that, and it went right back to "outbox" so we will see...
