Wondering if anybody has used the Kordes climber 'Golden Gate?' Here in GA it is as healthy as 'Knock Out' re: black spot. It has set some OP hips this year and I think I recall getting one germination several years ago. My plant grows near 'Alister Stella Gray' - that might be a wonderful cross.

Re: Golden Gate by Kordes
Haven't tried it. But thank you for the suggestion! If it is hardy enough to be a climber in zone 5b, maybe it would be crown hardy here in northern MN. Healthy yellows are precious. There is a photo of hips on HMF. Could cross it with Above & Beyond in hopes of recovering rebloom (A&B doesn't repeat). - Joe

Did I sleep through an alien invasion that united mankind? At the bottom of the Kordes website are listed Our Brands which include Star, Drift and Knockout which were all Meilland brands last I knew and, in fact, these are listed on the Meilland site as well - though not Kordes. Kordes IS listed on the Star website, though.

Sounds like a great cross with Above and Beyond! Let me know if you get any more germinations from those seeds if you give it a go again. I'm finding some of Kordes bushes I have set hips but don't want to germinate. So I'm still looking to try different ones.
