Re: Rugosa roses disease resistance
This information accords with the trial and error I've experienced in my garden over the years! The Rugosas that I ended up keeping in Minnesota have also done well in Georgia--no difference in disease, though I think the long hot summers are a little tough on them. Hmm, maybe I should water more? F...

I have a 55-gallon fish tank with (of course) real plants, and the light fixture is a special red, white, and blue LED (purchased on Amazon) that is supposed to provide all the kinds of light the plants need. They do seem ...

Leave it to Julie to ask the pertinent question! It's lovely, Joe, and the foliage probably has nice fall color too.

By the way, High Country Roses carries Austrian Copper. They are probably sold out now but usually have a new crop of all varieties coming along by early spring.

Re: Persian Yellow
These are some pictures Michel took when we went on a picnic to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in June 2013. Two shots of Persian Yellow, one close-up of Austrian Copper. The colors really are Technicolor quality in person--you can see why rose hybridizers have been drawn to them for so long. Bet...

Re: F2 Virginiana Hybrids
Interesting how the other parent has an effect on the fuzziness, Warren! This is a picture of 'Rose d'Amour', an old R. virginiana hybrid with an OGR. Whatever the other parent was, it definitely enhanced and encouraged fuzzy buds.
