Re: Will hips ripen indoors?
The plants under grow lights in my basement is working. Temps are quite steady in the 60-65 F range. Grow lights are on for about 15 hours a day. Just harvested my Chrysler Imperial x Miracle on the Hudson hips a couple of days ago. Really large hips with many really small seeds. Other hips are show...

Seedling from 2 years ago
This was one of my Iceberg x Queen Elizabeth seedlings. Unfortunately it has really weak stems and not too disease resistant.

Re: Current hips you are excited about?
Fragrant Cloud did very well for me here in MA this year. Super fragrant. It did get a mild case of mildew towards the end of summer but it was easily taken care of. I really wanted to do a Queen Elizabeth x Fragrant Cloud cross but the two never flowered at the same time and my stored pollen failed...

Re: Current hips you are excited about?
I have a couple of hips (still not ripe) that I hope will survive and ripen in my basement under grow lights. The cross is Fragrant Cloud x Kordes Perfecta. I also have a couple Mr. Lincoln x Miracle On The Hudson.

Will hips ripen indoors?
I have several hips on plants (container) that have not ripened. It's getting to be frost time in the north east and so I brought the plants in to my basement. I have grow lights and the temperature in the basement is between 55 and 60 F. Will the hips still ripen?
Thanks
