this report is pretty old. Maybe in the meanwhile somebody has noticed that some roses are reportet with different ploidy, e.g. 'New Dawn' = diploid, 'Veilchenblau'= triploid. Is it possible that the ladies vary their ploidy level ?

Re: Perfumes Evaluated
Hi Warren, that's fantastic !!! Without professional help one would never get scent-desciptions like yours. Unfortunately our nose/brain has to be trained for a long time to remember the kind of scents we observe. Sometimes a scheme like this or the description of the roseraie du val de marnecan can...

Breeding with 'The Generous Gardener'
I can't find any descendant of this rose in HMF. Does anybody have experience with this plant?

Re: Mermaid offspring
Hi Warren,
hope it is fertile and you can create further offspring with this cross. Did you use the 'Mairmaid' from the old Oberförster or the bracteata hybrid?
cheers

Re: Pink then Green
Such a pretty rose, isn't PM possibly a local problem? Like different strains of black spot? the reasons for PM are not only the local conditions. The cause is simply the sensitivity inhereted. BS is a good keyword, If you take a closer look on the last pic you will also observe some. That's a sham...

Howdy Warren.
to cite Goethe: " Alles ist Blatt"............
I got a similar bloom this year from 'LdV' x'Ballerina':

The plant is still trashed due to heavy PM :-(
cheers

Re: Germination with calcium nitrate-formula
First, thanks for the formula, will go with it next season.Until now I always put my seeds in growing mix with low nitrogen content (as commended by all experts). Now it seems that Nitrogen can be very helpfull to support germination. I also found an old study, not on roseseeds but on oat. Maybe amm...
