Looking for Some Varieties
Does anyone know of where I can buy or obtain cuttings of the following roses:
Orange Ruffels
Golden Glow (Brownells climber not the HT)
Atomic White
Break o' Day
Shades of Autumn
Prairie Sunset
Honey Dijon
The 777 Rose
Annapurna (by Dorieux)
Doorenbos Selection
These are varieties I had (with the exception of Golden Glow and Doorenbos) and was using for breeding about 5 years ago but lost when I moved. Now that I am on the market for them again, most seem to have disappeared - mostly because the nursery I obtained them from are no longer around. I am looking for anything from cuttings, scions, or plants to buy or trade.
Thanks

Re: Looking for Some Varieties
I can help you with Doorenbos Selection. I should be able to dig a sucker or two.

Stephen, *if* you have two... ;-) That's a class/color/cultivar that has intrigued me. I have a very limited selection of non-patented roses I could offer in return, or can reimburse postage, but if you have any interest, feel free to PM.

Awesome Stephen! That crosses one rose off the list. I think Doorenbos Selection has been on this list the longest so that's good to here I finally have a source.

Andre,
I have 'The 777 Rose', but it is just starting to show some growth this spring. It has never been the most vigorous grower for me, but if you send me a reminder via PM in late May/early June, I should be able to get a cutting for you.
Good luck in finding the other varieties on your list.

Re: Looking for Some Varieties
Just wanted to put this one out there again. I have obtained Orange Ruffels (I think it survived the winter) and have Prairie Sunset and I believe Doorenbos Selection coming later this spring. Unfortunately, I am still looking for the following:
Golden Glow (Brownells climber not the HT)
Atomic White
Break o' Day
Shades of Autumn
Honey Dijon
The 777 Rose
Annapurna (by Dorieux)
I am desperately looking to replace The 777 Rose, Annapurna, and Honey Dijon. HD is still under patent so I would need to find a commercial source for it - unfortunately the only US place that sells it listed on hmf does not do mail order
thank you in advance

Re: Looking for Some Varieties
I can't help with those, but if you are flexible enough to substitute, and if in 777 you're primarily looking to find a well reviewed red, fragrant nearly thornless HT, I personally have been wondering about Orard's Firefighter. It doesn't have the mauve inclination, however, if that's of value to you. Dark Desire does, and she is quite healthy, though as a youngster, she has a bit of a gawky habit as well as being well-armed. Nice color and fragrance however, IMO.
The other two of the latter roses on your list don't have stellar reviews for health, I note. Were they good roses to work with? Or is this predominantly nostalgia?
Good luck!
