One of the advanced American plant virus Professors is seeking a post doctorate to assist him in plant virus studies. I feel that he has been one of the leaders in utilizing next generation sequencing techniques for plant virus detection. I would expect that this would be an ideal sabbatical position for a younger faculty member who wishes to move to the forefront in this area of research.

For background up to date information:

"Synopsis
Since the last five years, next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies have significantly impacted the research in plant virology in many areas: etiology, epidemiology, population genetics, plant-virus interaction. The session will start with an overview of the impacts of NGS in plant virology and on the growing importance of bioinformatic field. The invited lecture will also focus on the downstream consequence of current application of NGS and the discovery of new strains and variant. The last lecture will focus on the future perspectives of NGS technologies in disease surveillance. "
