A meeting place for rose breeders.
Thank you. I have 10 more to bloom and if there is anything in there that shows promise, I will cross it back with that--they are all 25 or 50% minutifolia. Or back to the parent which is 50% minutifolia. The species parent plant (R. minutifolia) rooted easily so I am hoping to get something to experiment with by rooting a few of the offspring. Like how drought tolerant are they? Probably not so cold tolerant. The mother plant to this is also yellow--actually quite pretty in a very informal blowsy sort of way. It went from a 4-6 petaled single as a seedling to a 13 petaled one yr old that also has been very tolerant of all the spots. The species plant and a start from that plant both died in last yrs' late winter continual rain. Possibly they were in too heavy soil.
