Re: Recommendations for healthiest Austin Roses

Hi Phillip, can I suggest that the rose Mr Austin developed others have followed to cash in on the market that he made. Yes I agree that they do not do well everywhere. I do have a friend that works at David Austins and before we get them here in Australia I ask what they "might" do in our hot clima...

Re: Some ploidy questions

Karl and David Z,
In all the the known classes of roses, lets say Rugosas, Damask, Floribundas, can we assume they are "all" the same ploidy. Can we assume that Damask are lets say "diploids", if this is true, is there a chart to show what the classes are ?. Hope this makes sense.

Re: Problems with Search and Personal Messaging

Unless I am wrong about your request, I had a screen which looked like an ADMIn page in gray at 6.30Am Australian time Wednesday. Then it went to the old RHA page listing all the links. Hope this helps.

Re: Easy Propagation

Karl, have you tried it, I have read about previously and may give it ago as we are coming into our Spring here in Australia. If it works I would assume it is the starch in the potato which helps it grow, just guessing.

Re: 2018 Chelsea - New Harkness This Morning Rose (hulthemia?) Intro Shown at Chelsea

Hi Riku, We will be traveling to England from Australia at the end June and will be attending the Hampton Court flower show which is on at the start of July(3-8), hope Harkness' new rose is there to see. It looks like some follow up breeding from his original Hulthemia's. Did you enjoy the Cornwall ...

Re: R. davidii

Hi Philip, if you go thru some of Warren Millingtons list of crosses he has incorporated it in last season(2017) here in Australia and maybe 2018 crosses I think you will find. Warren will correct me if I am wrong.

Re: 2017 germinations

Hi Warren, when I first opened/looked at this, "Seedling 2016 FS14", I thought you had gone into Camellia growing/breeding. Very nice, do you think it will stay like that in heat ?
