I like it Joe. As for the possibility of "foreign" pollen, could the the color come "wayback" family members ?

Re: help with i,d.?

Daune, this might not be any help with the ID, but is it possible to back tack from the "local store", asking them their supplier, then back again or as far as you need to go. If ask nicely I have had great success this way. No harm in asking the "local store".

Re: R. Persica from seed - advice?

Hi Plazbo, It is possible to send cuttings/suckers to you but there is a but, A BIG BUT, cost, from this end(Australia), quarantine regulations, then, if your Dept of Agriculture allow it, quarantine your end. Seed would be the only way I assume. Warren(Willington) might chime in if he is around. He...

Re: Some ploidy questions

Thanks Stefan, most of your answer I can understand. So if I was to have a cross with, lets say "Laevigata" with "Peace" one of Kordes most outstanding achievements. It has stood the test of time. It is possible it "could" work ?

Re: Recommendations for healthiest Austin Roses

No not at all Phillip, I honestly think they got onto his lines to sell a product "similar" to his. If by chance you want to know something in particular to one of Mr. Austins rose I could "try" to find some info for you.

Re: Recommendations for healthiest Austin Roses

Hi Phillip, can I suggest that the rose Mr Austin developed others have followed to cash in on the market that he made. Yes I agree that they do not do well everywhere. I do have a friend that works at David Austins and before we get them here in Australia I ask what they "might" do in our hot clima...

Re: Some ploidy questions

Karl and David Z,
In all the the known classes of roses, lets say Rugosas, Damask, Floribundas, can we assume they are "all" the same ploidy. Can we assume that Damask are lets say "diploids", if this is true, is there a chart to show what the classes are ?. Hope this makes sense.

Re: Problems with Search and Personal Messaging

Unless I am wrong about your request, I had a screen which looked like an ADMIn page in gray at 6.30Am Australian time Wednesday. Then it went to the old RHA page listing all the links. Hope this helps.
