background reading -Apomixis

"In agriculture, apomixis has the potential to transform plant breeding, allowing new varieties to retain valuable traits through asexual reproduction. The production of seeds without sexual union is considered the holy grail of plant biology (Hofmann 2010)." See: https://link.springer.com/article/1...

By following what is happening with related plants

"Experimental procedures exploiting RNAi approaches allowed the generation of Prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRSV) resistant individuals of a cherry rootstock217. Grafting of these individuals demonstrated small RNA transport from rootstock to scion, resulting in “Emperor Francis” scions becoming ...

Appropriate DNA barcoding for molecular identification of rosa x damascena trigintipetala Plant growing in Taif region,

" The all Rosa x damascena trigintipetala varieties were clustered in one clade with Rosa persica and Rosa roxburghii. The genetic distance and tree topology specified that the Taif Roses varieties could be originated from Rosa persica and Rosa roxburghii." See: https://www.isisn.org/BR15(4)2018/435...

Cloning and preliminary analysis of resistance function of rhASP1 in rose (Rosa hybrida).

"These findings examined preliminary biological function of RhASP1, and will provide new gene resources and basic theory foundation for stress breeding in Rosa hybrida."
